UEFA Champions League FInal Berlin

How do you celebrate the UEFA Champions League Final in a city as dynamic as Berlin?

By creating a one-of-a-kind trophy tour that highlights the city’s unique culture and transportation methods. In 2015, the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Berlin took place as a relay event, using iconic modes of transport like bike taxis, Trabis, boat on the spree, and the S-Bahn. At each stop, the trophy was handed over by celebrities such as Arne Friedrich, Sabine Lisicki, Max Herre, Joy Denalane, and Palina Rojinski.

Each handover stop also featured the unveiling of Berlin-style street art murals, depicting legendary moments from Champions League history. The motifs were chosen by fans from around the world through a poll on UEFA.com, adding an interactive and artistic layer to the experience.

The entire event, convoyed by the Berlin police, required detailed coordination with UEFA, the city of Berlin and all involved parties. The tour culminated at the iconic Brandenburg Gate, offering a spectacular finish to an unforgettable journey.

Role: Project Lead

I was responsible for overseeing the entire UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Berlin, managing all aspects from concept to execution. My role involved coordinating with UEFA, the city of Berlin, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics and compliance with local regulations, including the involvement of the Berlin police convoy.

I organized the unique relay, selecting iconic Berlin transportation methods such as bike taxis, Trabis, boats, and the S-Bahn, creating a memorable and city-specific experience. Additionally, I managed the celebrity handovers at each stop and coordinated the unveiling of Berlin-style street art murals, working closely with UEFA on fan-chosen motifs from Champions League history.

From guest and press management to final execution at the Brandenburg Gate, I ensured every element of the tour reflected both UEFA’s brand and the spirit of Berlin.
